At The Zoo!

Inspiration: while contacting my blue-dog congressman about health care, I noticed his website had an invitation for contituents to come visit his D.C. office and his staff will arrange a personalized tour of Washington D.C. and a free memorial U.S. flag! OMG! An invitation to the congressional zoo ... a chance to observe homo politcus in its natural habitat! caution: many links ahead ... cue music ...

Something tells me it's all happening AT THE ZOO. I do believe it; I do believe it's true ...

The monkeys stand for HONESTY

Giraffes are INSINCERE

And the elephants are kindly but they're DUMB.

Orangutans are skeptical of changes in their cages

And the ZOOKEEPER is very fond of rum.

Zebras are REACTIONARIES

Antelopes are MISSIONARIES

Pigeons PLOT IN SECRECY

And hamsters TURN ON frequently ...

WHAT A GAS!

yeah, baby ...

You gotta come and see!

AT THE ZOO ...

AT THE ZOOOOOO ...
Lest you think I'm too flippy today, I'll close with the more somber American Tune, still valid after all these years ...

****Note from D.K.: This may be my final blog for awhile. I have started construction on a new home which has drastically reduced my ability to blog. I have also lost patience with my computer. I don't even want to tell you how long it took just to put this post together. I just keep hoping this computer will last until we can reset up everything in our new home. However, I am NOT disappearing! I will still visit you all even if it will be on a less frequent basis for awhile. *****

Well I will miss your posts..but that's okay... I understand.. I know you are going to be busy.. So just have fun building..if that's possible.. and try not to work too hard.

Come visit when you can and hopefully when your new house is all done you will have time to put your feet up and enjoy blogging for a while.

Oh, this was great.. love the pictures of everyone..especially Steele...lol He looks good like that...lol

actually I love new home construction, all aspects, so it will be FUN for me, but it does tend to sap one's energy. the hardest part will be the move and settling in.

I did have fun putting this post together but it got too complicated trying to post it. I really wanted to search for funnier pics, but my brain-dead computer was just not up to it. Oh well, at least it allowed me to clear that ZOO song out of my head.

Steele never looked better IMO! I had a bunch of other candidates in mind for The Zookeeper, but finally decided that is really supposed to be his job right now, no matter how ineptly he performs. Bet he does not even make it through the mid-term elections.

If by some stretch of the imagination we luck into getting health care passed, (and with these dems fighting each other like they always do, and the repubs joining up and fighting hard like they always do) it will be lucky and a miracle for it to happen I am afraid.. but if it does.. and the mid-terms start looking like they go toward the Dems..which I think they will if they can get their shit together.. then he will be gone.. and darn that will be a shame.. like Palin, he is one of the best things we have going for us...lol

Annette:
yup Steele and Palin, dumb and dumber, leading the repubs further and further into the wilderness!

Enigma:
foundation is supposed to be poured next week, so the design can now start to become reality. thank for you the many good wishes. oh, I'll probably continue to throw up a few blogs, but I'll have to give up on photos because it's just too frustrating dealing with this %^^*#@!& computer!

Best wishes on the building of your place.
Wow!!!!!

As for the Zoo-- PLease do NOT feed the politicians... well maybe feed them lobbyists (for lunch that is).

As for Steele Zookeeper, Ringleader- it;s circus too.
He is the designated spokesperson for the GOP & as we all know there is lots of *dung* involved & lately even more.

They seem to have adapted the Bush philosophy...
that is if you keep the atrocities coming, no one can keep track of them all.

This zoo needs cleaning! We are all having to hold out noses because of the stench.

I happen to think giraffes are loaded with integrity - long necks and nosey, but cool. I guess I live in the inverted zoo, it's all upside down, but still unsettling. Our PM Rudd has just assured us we are in deep doo doos for the foreseeable future and he will be re-elected too.

Fran:
Elephant dung being the most voluminous at the zoo, we've got an 8-yr backlog to clean out, not to mention our own messes. But just like with any housework, the longer it's put off, the higher it piles up. Even dust bunnies can eventually overwhelm a procrastinator and topple the whole system, so just imagine how the giant health care mess could bury us if they keep putting it off. Hmmmm, maybe that's their real health plan ... bury us under the shitty smoke-and-mirrors they've been producing for decades that don't get even close to the root of the problem ... and then we die!?!

Cart:
Giraffes are the coolest! Simon and Garfunkel were just trying to make some political points. Actually I had the hardest time coming up with one congressmonkeyperson that might be "honest". I could only think of Sen Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who hasn't disappointed me (yet)! At least your PM Kev is being honest about the messy sh*thole the whole world is in, so awful it even affects you ozzies. So the question is, can an honest politician get (re)elected?

D.K., best of luck with the construction! What a huge project! This post was hilarious (and great!). I'll be looking forward to your return...when Redheaded Wisdom will be bigger and better than ever, powered by that great computer.

Doh! And I just discovered your blog! I doubt I'd have the courage to build a new house. Good luck!

Jay Inslee from Washington state's First District is an exemplar of what a politician should be: Honest, smart, hard-working, idealistic. I just about wept when I was redistricted into the 8th (Dave Reichert: For a photo, look up the term "empty suit" in your dictionary.

Border Expl:
yup, our two biggest post-move-in purchases will be a big TV and computer ... anything more will have to wait until we sell our current home. need to see what you've been up to!

K.:
courage or plain old dumbness, hard to tell at this point. at any rate, framing has begun. we lived on the other side of WA state in the early 80's. I remember sen magnuson being defeated by slade gorton (talk about empty suit). Thanks for stopping by (I saw your Pat Boone comments at Annette's & was glad to see others remembering him as the complete clown he was/is).

Very very well done.
I was in your neck of the woods for quite some time on our epic road trip. I waved hello, but you were busy.

Best of fortune on the new home construction. See you down the old blog road.

Peace
