Two for Two

OK, so maybe you gotta be jewish or have a jewish spouse, but husband & I always enjoy Richard Lewis when he gets the final word on Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Whether he's following Rachel Maddow or John Dean, he manages to capture the ongoing outrage in my house. The fact that he sputters and flies off on tangents is just indicative of how much there is to sputter about in his 8-minute time slot. Here are his last couple of appearances. Just go with the flow ...

Man on a Mission (why George Bush's "Mission Accomplished" almost wrecked his marriage, and why John McCain's "half-pope my-friends gesture" drives him to despair!):

Nobody does it Bitter (why he's a democrat vs a central-casting photo-op republican):

Yes, he's fixated on lap dancing, he had addiction problems, he gets so tangled up in his own psychoses, he can almost make you lose your mind .... but he still makes me laugh! I hope his jokes and angst help more people realize that McCain is a flag-wrapped war bomb who we must make sure doesn't inherit the vastly expanded unitary powers Bush & Cheney are handing to the next president.

I have to laugh! Richard Lewis is the funniest of the funny. I start smiling just seeing his face! I was just talking about McCain and Bush somewhere1 Lying is the new truth.
If you don't like what they say they will claim it a misspeak and say what you want to hear. It is sickening. I have faith that when McCain goes head to head with Obama he will self destruct.

Avg Patriot:
A McCain/Obama debate is one I would relish! More and more McC looks completely muzzy-brained, but still virulent enough to send bombs into Iran. He's like the cheerleader of the zombies.

You know I agree but just looks at what the current cheerleader has done and some still believe him and McGoon promises worse!

Thanks for sharing these-- I love his brand of sarcasm- the bookless Bush library, this admin making Armageddon look good, and McCain flip flopping more than a pancake @ a busy pancake house.
The repugs have earned every barb thrown their way.
A. Patriot's "Lying is the new truth" is classic.

When you listen to Bush's pre election speeches now, you wonder- Who IS that guy?
Pretty much everything he said was the opposite of what he did.

We have to find some levity in this disaster, or we'd all lose it.

Oh yea & Obama will mop the floor with McSame in a debate.

Fran:
yeah the bookless bush library! maybe a pristine unopened Camus on a coffee table filled with week old pizza boxes, stale beer & long-tail ciggies in the lobby. or inside some phony hollowed-out book will be the Skull 'N Bones handbook of torture. even HE doesn't remember what he said prior to his selection. he was just moving his lips mouthing words Karl told him would do the trick.

During any fall debates, if McCain starts in with his my-friends half-a-pope, I won't be able to get Richard Lewis off my mind.

Enigma:
I always get very excited when Keith says Richard will be on. His stream of conscious style perfectly reflects my own exasperations. C-Span showed Hillary and Obama at the Jefferson Jackson Dinner in Indianapolis tonight. Obama brought down the house!

He's hilarious! That's a good thing, because sometimes humor breaks down barriers to rational thought that are immune to logic.

you changed your avatar again. I was enjoying the cat that jumped into & out of the comptuer! and yes, I always prefer to laugh than argue with the rationally-changed. there is no way to win -- if they end up agreeing with you, you start to question your own rationality.

Computer-kitty will be back. I use several and change them every few days.

I rather like Richard Lewis. He'd be so handsome if only he didn't slouch. Richard, get your hands out of your pockets, stand up straight, don't slouch, call your mother.

I agree, Diva. I'm a longtime fan. He's a cutie who doesn't even know it. I think his mom & my husband's mom would've enjoyed comparing sons.
