Over the Rainbow

Was going to put up a snarky spring romance tale today, but think this is better for a Sunday. I'll save the snark for tomorrow.

"Somewhere over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World"

This combo song version is performed by Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole who died in 1997 of weight-related respiratory illness. He was 38.
Wonderfully peaceful ... just his mellow voice and his ukelele.
Video scenes are of his native Hawai'i.

Absolutely beautiful, Red.

Off topic, I left you a comment several days ago that has since disappeared. There is a post at PP on 4/2 that you really need to see. Click HERE

I'll wait for the snark. But then it's already Monday here :(

Tomcat: Well, my buttons are popping off my chest today (and I don't think it's solely due to weight gain)! I'm gonna copy here what I wrote to you in a comment on the post you linked because now that it's a few days old, I'm afraid you might miss it & think me an ungrateful slob ...

"aaaah, you big sweetie, TomCat! I will take this award to heart, having never won anything in my entire life.

"Sorry I've been AWOL. Happens every year about this time. I get caught in the tax dungeon & my brain turns to mush & mush is not good fertile ground for blogging.

"Now I will try to figure out how to display the graphic & posting of the rules. Being such a computer idiot, you can expect to hear my swearing, even waaaay up in your locale.

"So, belated thanks for the honor! You get a good scritch behind the ears & some extra halibut w/your dinner tonight, maybe some catnip in that fuzzy pillow you pretend to sleep on." ~~ D.K.

Cart:
sorry about the lack of snark. I will try to regain it in a few days. I am sending off my tax returns today & heaving a big sigh of relief for 2007, experiencing some dread about 2008, as well as outrage over bush's use of my tax money. The dismantling of the american middle class continues to take its toll. I feel like a dairy cow hooked up to one of those painful milking machines. Yeeeouchie!

Red, you're most welcome. As for your buttons popping off your chest, I... um... I think I better shut up now. ;-)

TCat: maybe I should've left out the milk cow alliteration to Cart (above) as well? As I feared, my brain has been taxed to the max. I need lose the mush & regain some crunch!

I love this song....6-6 and I were singing this the other night because some twit on American Idol sang it and of course ruined it- so then we went to Youtube to see the BETTER version...it is such a sweet song....so lovely....

there is plenty of time for snark....

Enigma:
Iz's version is very unconventional. It's like an impromptu jam session with his sweet voice & uke. He improvises the words & gets many of them wrong, but the result is wonderful -- like he just stepped into your living room & started stumming & humming from his heart.

I don't care for the overly produced American Idol versions of anything! It's like they are all trying to out-Whitney Houston each other. There's only so much running up & down the scales I can take. They all just seem so overdone & unreal to me.
