OK, so this is it. Hope you all like my orange hair.
I feel like a fortune-teller in that fussy headband with beaded embroidery and dangling gems. A ginger gypsy?!?
Thank you bloggers for staying with me through this long arduous process ... arduous for me, the non-blogger! Next task: a blogroll.
And thank you, Alphonse Mucha ...

I think Alphonse did indeed help you come to the Right Avatar...since I actually know what you look like I have to say- this is perfect...it captures you .....lovely ......you look brave, bright, and sharp eyed.....all so true....and the headband adds just the right touch of Mystery...Bravo...
Looks like a good Avatar to me, dangling gems and all just add to the flair.
thanks Enigma, I do hope the headband isn't too much. In my search, I actually found an image that looked like it came right out of my old family album (circa 1970), but couldn't use it because it was called Mary Magdalene & that is sooo NOT me. I also searched for the Marguerite you mentioned, but ended up getting lost in flowers!
Larry, if only that dangling ruby wasn't paste, hunh? Then again, maybe the gypsy trade is more lucrative than I know.
***** Dem Debates in Vegas starting in about an hour on CNN. Being a Downwinder, I'm hoping for a question about Yucca Mtn Nuke Dump. *****
d.k. raed...
Totally looks like you.
God Bless.
Well, I guess it's okay since it came from a guy named Alphonse, you know that connection. But I was hoping for something with a little more sleaze in it. You know, the slutty look of a vegas whore, or even a belly dancer.
Hee Hee, looks good Deke. You did good!
Oh, absolutely! And the resemblance is uncanny. Love it!
Spadoman is incorrigible.
Deke, I love it and I am glad you have an avatar! How fun.
Anon-P: I could've posed for Mucha, if I'd been born a hundred yrs earlier, although I doubt he lacked willing models.
Spado: Sleaze is in the mind; you'll just have to imagine what is NOT being shown below the neckline!
Dada: I'm glad Mucha departed from his usual focus on the young nubiles to do a woman in her 5th decade.
Pursey: It WAS fun & now my mind is clear to proceed with more pressing matters ... like how to cash in on that large Ruby dangling near my eye. It keeps swinging into my sightline & reminding me of the arbitrary value of "stones" ...
Like when Hillary was asked last night if she preferred Diamonds or Pearls. Her response: "people say I can't make choices ... well, I want BOTH". So ... was THAT a choice, Hill? Oh gawd, is this a preview of her administration? Hmmm, both iran and pakistan need the nukes knocked out of them, hey let's do BOTH! Besides, everyone knows Diamonds is the correct answer ... unless you consider the human misery caused by diamond mining. So maybe Pearls are correct ... artificially stimulating oysters isn't even on the same scale.
