Enflamed Inferno

OK, you can blame Border Explorer for this!

She posted a fun link to The Hero Factory that allows you to create a superhero version of yourself.

The minute I saw all the options, I was hooked. How many times do you get a chance to re-invent your looks? Try it and you'll see what I mean. Go on, you deserve a killer bod.

I have no idea what kind of hero an "Enflamed Inferno" is, but it sounds like something out of "The Divine Comedy" (abandon all hope, ye who enter).

I'm gonna print out a copy and hang it over the treadmill for inspiration. If it doesn't work, I can always point the flamethrower at it. Hah!

UNRELATED RECOMMENDATION, BEST 30-MINUTES ON TV THIS WEEK: Jon Stewart ripped Jim Cramer apart Thursday night on The Daily Show. It was the culmination of about a week's worth of Daily Show analysis of CNBC financial acumen. The whole Daily Show was devoted to interviewing a subdued & contrite Cramer, but even so, they had to edit about 8-minutes. They promised to post the complete unedited version Friday on http://www.thedailyshow.com/

This was the only piece of the show I could find posted tonight:

I loved the show... I think Jon nailed him to the wall.. Maybe it was an act..I don't know but if it was..it was a good one.. They did well...lol I somehow don't think it was.

I think Jon made several very good points, I would hope that things would change but I somehow don't see Cramer changing anything. I thought it was great him admitting Santelli was wrong..however I seem to remember him thinking it was fine when it happened.

It's too bad some of the others won't go on there too.. of course the Joke wouldn't go on there and never said a word about it this morning that I heard either.

Disingenuous at best & criminal at worst-- For Sure....
I'm surprised he even agreed to appear on the show.

I love the "roll tape" segments.....
No man, this is what you actually said.

A whole lot of game playing, and confidence the SEC is out of the loop & not understanding how the games are played.

Love your Superhero! Don;t mess with DK or she will use her flamethrower to toast your ass!!!

I guess it's truly a sign of how bad things are when jokester interviewers like Jon Stewart are the only ones able to penetrate this giant mess, fearlessly stepping in where no serious journalists care to tread. And it's a good thing I'm not a morning person because I can't tolerate Morning Joke. If I'm ever up that early, it's usually just to force our dog outside before he loses it in his sleep. Come to think of it, that is all Morning Joke is doing on TV, isn't it? He's just relieving himself in public!

I had a great time watching it and will now look for the unedited version. Cramer looked so pitiful, rolling up his shirtsleeves to get an ass-whupping! But as Stewart pointed out, it isn't about Cramer, it's about the whole mess of which these supposed financial experts knew but were so in the pocket of the wall street wizards that they acted more like cheerleaders than disspasionate analysts. My favorite line was when Stewart said they burned the fuckin house down!

UPDATE: I just saw Glenn Beck is promoting some nasty special today at 5PM EDT. I think he's on Fox now? Anyway, the show is for those people who feel they are in a political wilderness. Yes, apparently there are many repukes who suddenly feel bereft. They complain that they can no longer say anything without being challenged. Imagine that! So Beck decided to play psychologist for them today. I guess Beck is trying to become the disenfranchised right wing's sympathetic ear, much the same as Keith Olbermann was for weary Dems during our wilderness years. If so, Beck better go back to Journo School and learn how to research facts!

Jeez, between Beck and Morning Joke, we are sandwiched by bleeding assholes spewing from morn til eve!

D.K., I love your SuperHero! She rocks! That site is a total blast, no?

I'll have to look up the Daily Show segment. Once again, Jon is the man who speaks the truth. You're so right that "jokester interviewers" are the only ones speaking the truth. Well, guess I'd add Amy Goodman and Bill Moyers, too.

I can't wait to try that but first I saw Stewart and Cramer and and many different videos of Cramer trying to lie it away. Cramer is a loud mouth ass and one responsible for lying up the stock market He should be held accountable not joked about. I am so sick of the crap!

B. Explorer:
that Hero site was great fun, thanks for finding it! I think it's mainly for women because when I tried to get my hub interested in doing his own super hero, he said he'd feel too gay dressing up some online buff statue! aah well, I had fun with it.

Avg Patriot:
I hope you found it online. It's at www.dailyshow.com
find March 12th interview with Cramer, select the UNEDITED VERSION ... it comes up in 3 parts. Well worth it!

I am so grateful Jon Stewart had the courage and acumen to take this issue on. I'll just quote one of many of his acute observations:

"These guys (big shot CEOs) were on a Sherman's March through their companies, financed by our 401K's, and all the incentives of their companies were for short term profit, and they burned the fuckin house down with our money and walked away rich as hell, and you guys (financial gurus) knew that it was going on!"

To which all I can add is fuckin amen, brother jon.

***** Oh! Following up on my previous comment about Glenn Beck's hour of power show today ... it was a fantasy of hilarity. Beginning with his crocodile tears, copiously shed on cue very similar to John Hurt in that "Broadcast News" movie ... continuing through his insistence that many thousands of people were tuned in to watch him tell them they are not alone (but the on-location shots showed that to be a lie, except for the few sad stragglers hanging around Chuck Norris in Texas) ... he even worked in some basic tenets of mormon faith and tried to act like he was some kind of revelator for the disenfranchised masses of disgruntled conservatives. I had to fast forward through many of the testimonials after the first one wherein Beck was talking to an injured Iraq War Vet and in setting up his story, Beck refers to the Vet's battle with an "I.U.D." ... I'm not kidding! All in all, Beck came off as a uglier version of Tammy Faye Baker. Afterwards he went on O'Reilly's show and they kissed each other's asses for awhile. O'Reilly called the NBC network "pure hate" and congratulated Beck for switching to FOX, "a more traditional audience with traditional american values". Are you ready to puke yet? OK, it was worth a laugh to watch him once. I won't do it again, even as a scientific blog experiment. Life is too short.

battle with an "I.U.D."???

Gt out your Sabre!! Time to do battle with an IUD.

Too funny.

Methinks Jon Stewart must have lost a shitload of $$$ from HIS 401k- he seems to be taking this personally...

Well, yes, I get the impression anyone who had $$ n 401k's really took it in the shorts because of Wall Street's effed up folly.

It is just handy to be able to show footage of the shady stuff Cramer was promoting & those little side remarks.

D.K. Raed said...

Fran:
I wanted to laugh long and loud over Beck's use of "I.U.D." but the Vet in question was obviously very injured. Still, the minute he said it, I couldn't help but think of a roadside explosive resembling a little crab, like an IUD. What a buffoon Beck is!

Aah so you caught the catch in Jon Stewart's voice when it was obvious how angry he was over the loss of pension money? I think he was trembling with emotion. And yes he must've been financial whacked back just like everyone else, 30-50%. Cramer is a liar (surprise) when he countered that that loss was tempered by the wall street run-up wherein 30% profits were earned. No way! If you were invested in conservative blue chips and other supposedly responsible stocks, you did not see 30% returns (more like 10-15%). But yet you still took a 30+% hit because the falling Dow has affected all stocks about equally.

Sheesh! maybe we should send a little IUD over to CNBC. have them apply it to their mouths to keep them from impregnating the financial world with their lies.

I'm now a hero. Thanks, I needed that.

And I taped the Stewart V Cramer show. Cramer is a liar and an idiot. Stewart has never done a show where he was that angry. Barely contained rage. It was great TV and I hope scares the Bejeezus out of the talking heads on CNBC.

UT Savage: well now you're going to have to post your hero image so we can see your weapon of choice!
