As usual, Leonard Cohen says it best. Here is the 3.5 minute version:
If you're a Leonard Cohen fan, click here for the full 7-minutes ...
"It's coming from the sorrow in the street, the holy places where the races meet; from the homicidal bitchin' that goes down in every kitchen to determine who will serve and who will eat. From the wells of disappointment where the women kneel to pray for the grace of God in the desert here and the desert far away: Democracy is coming to the U.S.A."
If you haven't already voted, stop everything else you're doing,
and GO VOTE NOW!
While you're at it, drag a few friends with you.
This day is what DEMOCRACY is all about, the peaceful transfer of power. This is what our ancestors fought and died for.

Democracy~ it's no spectator sport......
I want to see lots of BLUE on that map today.
I started a shopping list.... it has one item on it.....
• NEW REGIME
well, I did vote early, but this is a great reminder for all who have not gotten to it. Leonard Cohen was my first favorite poet. Thank you for the reminders and memories.
Fran:
I hope every voter takes that shopping list with them to the polls today!
MariaMaria:
His voice has that certain quality that feels like it's talking directly into your brain.
I voted and have the sticker to prove it! I will check in later this evening.

#44 PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
words alone can't express my joy & relief
oh this is SOooooo beautiful...wow...great post....what a wonderful night....many hugs to you and thank you for all of your hard work....and amazing blogging...and courage...thank you...
Amen, sister! As one of Leonard Cohen's greatest fans, I must admit I didn't turn to him immediately for inspiration from last night's unbelievable win by Obama. It's a new day for sure. And, to celebrate with Cohen, a Canadian by the way, is wonderful. For a bit of a downer from Cohen listen to his "Everyone Knows" for lessons to be learned and turns not to be taken in the future.
I hope the candidates you were supporting in Utah all won!
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH !!!! You all are beautiful ... it's a beautiful world today!
I ended up spending last night on the phone, celebrating victory by yakking my mouth off as we watched the news.
The bad news for me is UTAH stayed red as an inflammed ass rash. My county voted repub all the way, prez down to county commish, so there is no joy in mudville today. Too bad, time to join the 21st century, UTAH! You already missed the 20th!
OK, I will be nicer later, after I check all the news. I had my first good night's sleep in forever & am feeling fiesty!
just comin' over for a...
