Presumptive Nominee

In acknowledgement that our country is fed up with politics-as-usual and hungry for change, Senator Obama is officially the presumptive democratic nominee! Gawd, that feels good to finally say. Presumptive President Obama feels even better to say!

Tonight, we stand on the shoulders of giants to proclaim, YES WE CAN! This is truly an historic moment. It's been many years, too many, since I was this excited over an election. And for crying outloud, MSM, let us have a few moments to savor this victory before you start bombarding us with Vice-Presidential choices.

Tonight, I say to McCrusty, you are toast, go back to the senate and seek solace with your lobbyists and Bush agenda criminal enablers. You think democrats are too busy being hard on each other to deal with you? You ain't seen nothing yet, "my friend". We can unite against you! And you should be ashamed to be speaking down in Louisiana tonight. When they needed you during Katrina, you were busy hosting a pre-flyover Bush BBQ. And please tell me, how the hell you managed to put together an "oddience" (Dada's word), a pitifully small crowd who had to be led to know when to boo or when to cheer, near New Orleans tonight without any African-Americans? Oh, the gloves are off, my McCreepy friend. The chutzpah to call yourself "the agent of change"! THIS IS HOW CHANGE LOOKS:

Whew! You go girl! You are firing on all cylinders!

I love the term *Presumptive President Obama * I;m gonna have to borrow it & make it a household term.

This wrapping up the nomination thing will mean we can go to the convention & serve up a whole lot of truth about the other party & lay it out. Going into it squabbling would have been a disaster.

You are right- for crikey sake- don;t shove VP pressure down the throat.... let us savor this historic win over a long & hard fought win.

Let us be on the high road & enjoy the view... Eh?

You should join his writing team.... you are kicking ass here Missy.

I was so disgusted listening to McC drone on tonight about him being for the "right kind of change". I guess the "right kind" is the kind that is NO change. I swear, he is brain damaged. And he's developed this horrible haheheha that he flashes to the oddience that creeped me out. It was like he was reading the words, haheheha, on the prompter.

I am not even gonna think about a VP choice right now. It just feels too good to finally have a nominee. When Obama releases a short list, I might have an opinion. And I SURE as hell am not gonna be listening to the Hill people chanting, Den-VER, Den-VER. I mean WTF? Scorched earth is not the way to win in November!

ps, thanks for the nice writing compliment. Personally, I think I am better suited for the job of Empress, but it doesn't seem to be available.

Ah, McCain's speech: the tone was absolutely classic "High Authoritarian" neo-conservative bullshit. Speaking in a calm voice, as if to a child, McCain presented that attitude of arrogant superiority that Republicans love - the outer tone is calm, but the words have an undertone of fearmongering.

Obama's speech, on the other hand, was passionate. It was exciting, and geared toward waking up the sleeping giant of good work that we really can be. It was cut from the cloth of Kennedy's inaugural address, the "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" kind of tone.

Yep. We certainly can.

I know I am on a high right now. It's a wonderful feeling after 8-yrs of ulcers. Hey, I am glad I had a blog to blog it, too -- thanks to you!

Diva:
That phony calm voice is one of the most horrible aspects of having to listen to any of McC's speeches. He sticks in the shiv of permanent taxcuts-for-the-wealthy while he yaks about how he trusts YOU (yes, YOU!) to manage your own life. Hey McC, I trust myself to manage to vote for your opponent without ANY shivs at my back! You want an ownership society? I will OWN that vote!

ps, Obama's speech was JFK, RFK, and FDRish. It very much showed how a movement can sweep all that preceded it. When this is all over, we will stand amazed that an idea so simple became so powerful.

I finally put up my own post, with a focus on how McCain just attacked "Change" - it's going to be an ugly shadow message from him.

It does feel good to say that but Hillary can still make this a miserable road depending on whether or not Obama knows how to placate her.
Anyway I keep pointing out that McCain is running on change to but his idea of change is the same lies with a different disguise. The more he distances himself from Bush the more like him he is!
I have been seeing McCain off and on all day and that sneering, grinning, smirk, or whatever he calls that sinister smile is getting down right alarming and he is sounding more and more like a mad man. I fully expect him to self destruct when he does get his wish for one on ones with Obama at town hall meetings.

He has been self-destructing for quite awhile now. He's like the sacrificial lamb the repubs threw up knowing they are going to lose. Well, not exactly, more like sacrificial old snake. Problem with snakes is how active they are even after they are dead, how they can still bite & inject venom.

Yes we can.

Now lets take our country back President Obama.

God Bless.

Amen ... President Obama sounds even better than presumptive President Obama!

Poetryman:
Hey, nice to see you! Peace Tree is a wonderful blog. McCain is pitiful, but I expect the repub party to rally around him. It will be a pitiful group of fundies & warmongers & war profiteers & robberbaron destroyers of the middle class. As the people see these rock scorpions for what they really are, they will wonder how we endured it for so long.
