My Friends

These are things I would like to point out to the next person who tells me they are voting for McCain because their first choice for democratic nominee is not presumptive:

As usual, The Beatles said it first ... except I don't think "we should say goodnight" yet ... because WE CAN work it out:

Otherwise, we won't be able to find our way home:

(this last one is a smokey version of the Blind Faith song, rendered here by Yvonne Elliman who you might remember singing "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from "Jesus Christ Superstar", early 1970's)

I'm voting Republican because the price of gasoline has successfully cut down traffic on the 405 in Los Angeles.

Good point, Diva! I'm voting Repub because I enjoy the thought of permanent war which will effectively reduce our unemployment & welfare rolls. Gaaahhhh ... it actually hurt to write that!

Tim Russert died today, heart attack at 58. I'm in shock, because that's a young man. He was a class act, will be missed.

I'm also in shock, Diva, mainly because of his age. All I could think of was that Big Russ outlived his own son. Very sad. Tim always did good research for his show so his questions were not simplistic.

I'm voting republican because George Bush is only up to 35 articles of Impeachment. He can do better than that & McSame can probably beat that record-if given the chance.

I LOVE that first clip & the closing line: Cookie?
Nive version of Can't find my way home-- love it.

I just can't understand anyone saying they would vote McSame with any brain cell firing. I mean seriously!

Maybe when they have some debates it will become painfully clear & obvious that Obama has a better/cooler head on his shoulders.
McCain always seemed like the most out of touch in the Repub debates. His own campaign was pulled out of the fire amongst the repubs... remember he was out of money, and hanging on a fine thread, staffers were bailing out, when suddenly things turned around. I don;t even know how or why. He has a few key phrases he is told to say, but he seems lacking in substance.

I always had this feeling that maybe the repubs put their worst up for presidential candidates because who would want to clean up after the bush mess? Better they turn it over to the Dems who have a long running record of balancing budgets- more than the rumored fiscal responsibility reputation of the republican party. A reputation & reality that has long since faded.

In fact I can't think of one good thing the republican part has done in the last 8 years.

Fran: I'm voting republican because I love being told what to do, when to do it, and how to feel about it. I also think we need more Fear Levels. Yellow and Orange and Red are so boring. We need Carnelian and Bordeaux! Only republicans can deliver those colors.

The first time I watched that repub vid, I thought it was over & then stepford gramma popped back with "cookie?" Nice ending!

As far as how or why McCain was the last repub left standing even though he'd been written off, I do think there is a sacrificial lamb quality to him ... that it was his turn at bat, the last time he could ever credibly run & since they know they are going to lose anyway, why damage some real contender for 2012. Plus compared to the field of Brownbacks & Tancredos & Fred Thompsons, he looked pretty moderate.

BTW, as much as McC denies an "anger problem", it must be true. How many doctor reports consistently start off with the stmnt, "patient was of calm demeanor" like all 1200-pgs of McC's files indicate? Why would the doctors be evaluating this particular mental state of mind unless he had previously been known to lash out?

I know I'm repeating myself, but any dem that is threatening to vote McCain is either not thinking (yet) or not really a dem. I have to believe those not thinking yet will realize, even upon the most cusory examination, that McC is a total nonstarter for anyone who cares about democratic values & the very future of our society.
